Don't take our word for it - listen to what parents have to say about SLS.
The best way we can describe our experience with SLS is that since the very first day our kids started classes (our daughter in preschool and our son in kindergarten), they have been treated like family. All the teachers know their names. Even the “big kids” (7th & 8th graders) know the names of the younger kids and even treat them like little brothers and sisters. For a parent, there is not much more comforting than knowing your children are spending everyday in an environment where they are not only cared for in such a special way, but the level of attention and instruction they receive here is really a step above anything else you find! – M.W.
SLS offers an environment that mirrors the Christian values we strive to live by in our home. In this age of virtual community it is more & more difficult to live within actual communities. We have peace of mind knowing that our children are a part of a Christian community that helps them discover the strengths God gave them & equips them to fully use them. We love the SLS families, teachers, staff, & students! – J.R.
Our daughter has attended SLS since pre-kindergarten and will be entering 4th grade this year. We have been very happy with the teachers and the curriculum. The school prepares them for great success in academics, sports and music. What we are most impressed with is the Biblical teachings and how the school implements service projects in the community and globally. We love watching our daughter grow spiritually and how she helps contribute to her community. – A.P.
There are so many reasons why we choose SLS for our children’s education! They offer a faith centered atmosphere where Christ is worshiped every day. The teachers are the best, not only are they supportive and encouraging of our whole family, but I have their home phone numbers and am encouraged to call them at any time with questions or concerns. They offer small class sizes, their PALS organization hosts family-centered events that encourage families to socialize, and the children have the opportunity to start band as early as 3rd grade. My children have been attending SLS for the past 4 years because we believe it is the best possible environment for our children to learn and grow. – R.S.
Springfield Lutheran School has been such a blessing to our family. The atmosphere is so positive, friendly, full of creativity and friendship. SLS has a heart & mission for teaching Godly character and we are so pleased with the caring individual attention the teachers give to the children. – M.B.
SLS has been a blessing to our family. The staff have not only provided a solid education for our daughter, but have helped her to share and grow in her love for Jesus and caring for others. – K.J.
If I had to describe SLS in one word, I would use: Blessing. From the teachers, to the lunch employees, receptionist and principal; everyone works together to create a safe, loving environment, where kids can excel academically. Kids are pushed to do their best while learning about the love of Jesus. Kids are taught to be kind to one another while also respecting their differences. As a working mother, my work schedule can sometimes interfere with getting to the car line in the evenings. The morning and after school care hours takes a lot of the stress and worry from my day. I appreciate the flexibility it gives and the extremely reasonable cost. I am truly thankful for the staff at SLS, their dedication to my kids has been an answered prayer. – D.M.
The Uncommon Education
As parents of two children who currently attend Springfield Lutheran School, hereinafter ‘SLS,’ we simply cannot put into words how proud we are of our children’s progress, both in academics as well as their walk with the Lord.
The teaching staff and administration have seemingly struck the perfect balance between academic excellence and solid Christian foundation. It is noteworthy, that one of our children had fallen significantly behind while he attended public school, with the implementation of secular programs, as well as the “Common Core” curriculum being forced upon today’s youth. He is now, after just his second year, on track.
Moreover, we also find that the willingness and selfless commitment of SLS teachers to spend their valuable personal time, despite their family lives and other outside of school responsibilities, tutoring and mentoring our children to be quite exemplary.
Commitment as described above is not learned academically, but is inspired by God.
As parents, we recommend SLS to any parent who is serious about their children’s education and moral alliances and well being. – A.J.
My children have been attending SLS since 2002. It was at this time that I was searching for Jesus in my life, and had yet to find him. I had heard about SLS from other parents, and decided to check it out for myself. The first thing I remember when I walked through the doors was how the principal, Paul Baker, was so happy, and loving. He was singing down the hallway (which I now know is a common thing) and I love that. Then there was the secretary Darlene Applequist. She is an angel. My kids and I felt right at home talking with her as well. This is a family school, not a private school. Jesus is completely here at SLS in our teachers, school, and church. You can see him in action working through our school families. We are so blessed to be a part of this.
I appreciate the kindness, and love at SLS. I am ecstatic at the fact that my children come home and teach me about the word. My daughter loves to read the Bible with me. She tells me where to begin reading, and what it is going to be about. That is pretty wonderful!
We are truly thankful for the opportunity to attend this school. May God bless everyone involved with making Springfield Lutheran School the success that it is! We love you, SLS! – B.W.
This will be our child’s 6th year being a part of the Springfield Lutheran School Family. We know at SLS, our child will not only continue to excel academically but will continue to grow into the unique individual God has made him to be. SLS looks to all aspects of a child’s development, including opportunities for music, art, sports, gardening, and more. The loving atmosphere can be felt the minute you walk through the door. – T.B.
