As a Christian school, Biblical teaching, morals, and values are woven throughout everything we do at SLS. While some textbooks are secular, teachers integrate Christian living principles and Biblical truths into each lesson. Our religion lessons are from a textbook series from Concordia Publishing House. Classrooms are a traditional format with modern technology integration. Families are always welcome to browse through textbooks and ask teachers questions related to grade-level curriculum.

Parent and student feedback indicates that SLS alumni transition extremely well to the high school level. We often hear from former students and parents that the child was prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for high school.
Our 8th grade graduates often attend public high school in their home district. Families wishing to continue with a Christian education sometimes attend Springfield Catholic High School, or St. Paul Lutheran High School, a boarding school in Concordia, Missouri.
