Students at Springfield Lutheran School are assessed both formally and informally to ensure that students are making academic progress. Assessment data also provides meaningful information that allows faculty and staff to tailor educational activities to student needs. In addition to observations and formative and summative classroom assessments, the following assessments are administered at Springfield Lutheran School:
Preschool & Prekindergarten: Formal assessments that measure academic growth, and both gross and fine motor skills are given four times a school year.
Kindergarten: A kindergarten screening is administered at the beginning of the school year. Students are then assessed quarterly in curricular areas.
1st - 5th grade: Students are assessed at the beginning, middle, and end of the year in mathematics, language, and reading using the NWEA Map Test.
6th - 8th grade: Students are assessed at the beginning, middle, and end of the year in science, mathematics, language, and reading using the NWEA Map Test.
