Every time we turn around there is access to the internet on a multitude of devices! How many of your children have access to a smart device? These could be anything from a smartphone, smartwatch, iPad, Kindle, to VR goggles or a Nintendo Switch? All of these devices could have online access that your child is a part of.
As parents, we have to have a continuous and open dialogue with our children about a multitude of topics. Let’s add “Online Safety, Privacy, and Security” to that list!
How do you get started on that topic? Common Sense Media is a non-profit organization that provides resources and material about entertainment and technology to schools and families.
“We combine original research with game-changing advocacy efforts to make the digital world work better for all kids. Our advocacy work highlights legislation related to technology and identifies solutions that protect consumer privacy, push for better connectivity for students and families, and hold tech companies accountable to ensure a healthy internet for all.”
